A Lamp Unto My Feet

Posted by Matthew Leonard on 11.04.09

Pope B16

At a recent Wednesday audience, Benedict XVI invited us all to “nourish our existence with the Word of God, for example, through more attentive listening to the readings and the Gospel, especially in Sunday Mass. Moreover,” he continued, “it is important to reserve a certain time every day for meditation of the Bible, so that the Word of God is the lamp that illumines our daily path on earth.”

Journey Through Scripture in Green Bay

Posted by Matthew Leonard on 10.29.09

Journey Through Scripture diocesan training is sure keeping us busy. Two weeks after finishing up Toledo we headed way up north to the Diocese of Green Bay for Bible and the Sacraments presenter training.

Posted by Matthew Leonard on 09.28.09

They say the third time is the charm. But that isn’t the reason Rob and I made trip number three to the Diocese of Toledo in just one year. We went to offer presenter training for the Bible and the Sacraments, the third study in the Journey Through Scripture parish-based Bible study program.

Once again, it was a great day. We spent it studying the origin, meaning, and mysteries of the sacraments...  [Continue Reading]

Facing the Future

Posted by Dr. Scott Hahn on 08.24.09

When we teach someone to read the Scriptures, we’re pleased. We praise and thank God for the grace and the privilege. “For we”—you and I—“are God’s fellow workers” (1 Corinthians 3:9).

When we teach a teacher, however, we magnify our praise, because we see once again the marvels of God. When we teach a teacher, we reach not only an individual, but hundreds and perhaps thousands of students as well....  [Continue Reading]
