In the Footsteps of St. Paul with Scott and Kimberly Hahn

Catholic Mediterranean Cruise and Pilgrimage
October 25th – November 3rd 2012
(Optional Rome Tour Nov. 4-7)

Nearly two thousand years ago, St. Paul traveled by land and sea through the ancient Mediterranean world, proclaiming the Good News to Jew and Greek alike. In Corinth, Thessalonica, Athens, and Philippi, he introduced men and women to Christ. And the world has never been the same.

This fall, you’ll have the opportunity to retrace that journey on pilgrimage with the St. Paul Center. With Steve and Janet Ray for your tour guides, and Scott and Kimberly Hahn as your hosts, this 10-day journey across the Mediterranean features a seven night cruise on the “Steps of St. Paul” Ocean Majesty Liner, as well as two nights in Athens, and an optional Rome extension.  Click here for more information on the cruise and here for the brochure for the Optional Rome Tour Nov. 4-7

Along the way, you’ll visit the cities of Corinth, Philippi, Ephesus, Veria, Kavala, and Thessalonica, seeing the temples where the ancient Greeks worshipped, the arenas where St. Paul preached, and even the homes where he stayed. You’ll walk along the remains of the Roman roads he traveled, and stand on the seashore where the Christian message first reached Europe.

Additional stops on the pilgrimage will include a visit to the home where the Blessed Virgin Mary lived with St. John the Apostle in Ephesus, a day on the holy island of Patmos where John received the vision recorded in the Book of Revelation, and stops at the remains of the early Christian communities mentioned in John’s vision. You’ll also spend an entire day in Istanbul, the ancient city of Constantinople, home to one of the world’s greatest churches, the Hagia Sophia.

Each day, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered at some of early Christianity’s most sacred sites, and you’ll learn more about St. Paul and the message he brought to the ancient world through daily lectures from the Hahns, Steve Ray, and Mike Aquilina.

The pilgrimage begins in Athens on October 26, 2012 and concludes on November 4. An optional three day Rome extension is also available from November 4-7. With the exception of airfare to Athens and lunches, the cost of the trip is all inclusive, covering hotel and cruise line accommodations, all breakfasts, dinners, sightseeing fees, day tours by luxury coach, taxes, tips, and one airport transfer. Pricing for individuals varies depending on your cruise cabin preference.
