Catholic - Advanced The Jubilee Year in the Gospel of Luke
A good meditation by Father Albert Vanhoye, S.J., the longtime secretary of the Pontifical Biblical Commission. Also recommended is his meditation on Paul's speech to the philosophers of Athens in Acts:
- The Discourse at the Areopagus and the Universality of Truth

Catholic - Intermediate Did Luke Imitate the Septuagint?
By Father William Most. Originally published in The Journal for the Study of the New Testament.

Catholic - Intermediate Heaven on Earth: Temple, Worship and Holy Presence in Luke
A good treatment by Dr. Arthur Just, part of a symposium on worship hosted by the Lutheran Concordia Theological Seminary. A quote: "Jesus announces a shift in the locale of God's presence - from the physical temple in Jerusalem to the fleshly body of Jesus. In a sense, the temple is rendered obsolete by Jesus' incarnation (cf. Jn 4:20-26). The destruction of the temple will prompt people to look for God's presence in the location where He has come to dwell forever - in Jesus, who, in turn, comes to dwell in His Church through the Gospel, His Word and Sacraments." Catholic - Intermediate Luke and the Christology of Martyrdom
A good study by a Lutheran scholar, Dr. Peter Scaer. (pdf files, requires free Adobe Acrobat Reader)

Catholic - Advanced Kingdom and Church in Luke-Acts
Addresses a gap in scholarship on Luke’s understanding of Christ’s identity and his understanding of the Church. Hahn argues that the Old Testament understanding of the Davidic kingdom is the basis for Luke’s presentation of Jesus’ kingship and kingdom. He argues further that “the Davidic royal Christology of Luke’s Gospel sets the stage for his development of a Davidic kingdom ecclesiology in Acts.”
