More than 100 Catholics took part in The St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology's first "biblical pilgrimage" in mid-March, 2004.
The journey, led by Dr. Scott Hahn and Kimberly Hahn, traced the missionary itinerary of the Apostle Paul - from his shipwreck with St. Luke on Malta to his martyrdom in Rome.
"We were walking in the footsteps of Paul, studying the Bible in a place that has been the bulwark of Christian civilization since he was shipwrecked here 2,00 years ago," remarked Center director Rob Corzine.
Julie Robbins of Steubenville, Ohio, who made the journey with her sister, said the pilgrimage is already bearing spiritual fruits.
"A niece of mine by marriage, whom we were praying for at the holy sites of Malta and Rome has now become interested in the Catholic Church - even though she was raised a Mormon!" Robbins said. "Moreover, my daughter (who has left the sacraments) is being taken to Mass by one of her dear
friends."
Special Note: The St. Paul Center has made available a limited-edition 5-CD set featuring talks delivered by Dr. Scott Hahn and Kimberly Hahn during the Center's pilgrimage to Rome and Malta earlier this year. For details: Malta Pilgrimage Limited-Edition CD Set Available
A Pilgrims' Photo Album: Highlights From Our Journey
After being shipwrecked, St. Paul stayed in Malta for three months and founded a church there under a local convert, Publius, in about the year 60 A.D.
For the account of his shipwreck, his stay in Malta and his journey to Rome, read Acts 27:6-28:14.
